Anyone know if there is a repair facility that will repair older Weaver K4-K6 scopes?

My dad's 1965 Winchester M70 30-06 has a Weaver k4 scope that has a broken crosshair and I would like to keep the scope and rifle together as a tribute to my dad.

Not too tough to find good condition (sometimes like new) Weaver K-series scopes at many gun shows cheap ($25-$50). Probably cheaper than paying to fix a defective one.

Good advice, I have a bunch of K series Weavers bought in 60s. They were top seller in the day. The cost to have one repaired includes tear down and cleaning at the get go plus repair work. Not cost effective. I still have them on several guns where they have been over 50yrs, still good. If I replace any scopes new they are Leupolds.

I had a K6 that I bought in 75 and the rear lens is loose I found that it cost quite a bit to get it fixed, I just bought a K6 from ebay it was a lot cheaper. Jeff

Try Iron Sight; they have a website. I just sent an old American-made Redfield to them. They advised that normal wait time is 2 -4 months; really pretty speedy for scope work.

Unfortunately, I can't remember the name, but when I was actively acquiring El Paso T scopes, I was referred to a former Weaver employee that was rebuilding and repairing the old Weavers. I think the shop was in either Alabama or Georgia. Had I ever been able to get through to him, I might have a better recollection.

I bought a used gun that had a Weaver V-7 that was in very good shape. The scope had the covers missing and I contacted Iron Sight. They sent me new covers with no charge.

Best deal I got was about 4 years ago at a gun show. A Weaver K6, like new (but I think it had been used a little or at least mounted, due to some scratches) in the original box for $40. I put it on a Rem 700 .30-'06. 6X is a little more power than I like, but I couldn't resist the price. Before that, I did the same thing with a K2.5, LNIB, at a yard sale for $10. That one is mounted on one of my .22 rifles. There are lots and lots of the old Weavers still out there that don't need any work done on them.
