Older S&W Model 67 and +P ammo

On a parallel note, martinfender... the Model 67 was introduced primarily as a duty weapon for law enforcement use. Most used examples of them will tend to have been shot very little and indeed be excellent mechanically even if they have some cosmetic issues from long carrying in a duty holster. I just got one that had a broken sight blade and a ratty pair of target grips, but which had as nice an action as about any S&W of that vintage ever had! It was made to be shot and the K-frame was designed for 38 special (even in the old softer steels of the early 1900s) so your modern stainless will be hard for a mortal man to wear out, even with the so-called "more powerful" +P ammo you ask about. Oh yeah, and welcome to the forum. Just be glad you didn't say you couldn't find any CTG ammo for your Model 67... that would have really set folks off for redundancy! ;)

Green Frog

viceunit- You do understand that I was mocking those who unjustly criticize me, right? Right?

All I do is be direct and speak the truth. Some people can't handle the truth (shrug inserted)... or directness.

Please note that I have never... not even once... made personal insults. I may comment on the wisdom of an action, or disagree, but I never call anyone names. I leave that for others and there seems to be no shortage of them. Note all the things I have been called. (Happy faces abound!)

SP, it was only coincidence that I found your other post. I know Bill, the owner of the 5" 28, so that is one reason why I read the whole thread (and a cool gun, another reason) and found your post - which I liked. And, no sir, I have never known you to make a personal attack. I always find your insight interesting.

And to the OP, I also have a model 67 no dash. It is a well worn shooter that can shoot better than I can hold it. Good luck.

Insinuation, innuendo and sarcasm can be used with aplomb (fixed it). Just an observation.

If I offended or hurt anyone's feelings, I do apologize. I should not have commented in a new guy's thread. Having said that, can we lighten up a little? After all it's an internet forum, for Pete's sake. Stay here long enough, & anyone would tire of the +P & mfg date threads! I blame the ammo companies for ever labeling anything +P, & S&W for not stamping the date of manufacture on their guns!

So ignore the threads that anoy you.

I like to help new people and often learn things I never expected in the +p threads and "how old is my gun". Often from SP.

Welcome from another newbie, martinfender, to the Model 67 Fan Club! It's my favorite .38 Special revolver.

There's another recent 67 thread with some good photos, etc. started by another yet another new member, tina 444.
