My neighbor lost his grandson a few days ago.He was a young man of 36,a hard worker and a good father. He was dragging logs out of the woods on his property with an old 8n Ford and one got hung on a stump.Well needless to say the old tractor came up and flipped back on him.I sat with his grand parents for about an hour last night and they said he was probably killed instantly.By the time his dad and neighbor got to him there wasn't much they could do.Winched the tractor off him but too late.I'm sure he was in a hurry cause according to his pap he was always going full bore. For those of you that do this on occasion,be careful and pay attention.Don't be in a hurry.I know he probably thought he was bulletproof as most of us did at his age but this happened very quickly.A shame,he was a fine young man.Be careful gentlemen.

Wow, sorry to hear of the families loss, please let them know that we are praying for them here. Such a shame, no parent should ever have to outlive their child....

Prayer from Texas for the young man's family and friends. May they find peace comfort and strength during this very difficult time.

Wow, that is really sad and what a shame to loose a nice person like that.

Another dangerous thing that I see around here is people pulling and towing with a chain. Chains are know to break and go through the back window of the truck doing the towing. I use a strap.

I am sorry. His family is in my prayers.

I too drove a Ford N's in my youth... They could bounce up.

I work in the woods a bit by myself, and have though how things could go wrong. I have been thinking about getting some logging chaps, hopefully I do it before something bad happens.

So sorry to hear about that. My prayers go out.

I've never had a flip over but have come darn close to being hit by falling branches while working the tractor in the woods. I installed a roll cage on mine. It keeps me form being hit in the head and protection if I ever experience a flip.

Living in a farming community i hear of too many deaths like the one described. Around here most are tractor deaths due to some kind of accident, PTO, grain auger, roll over etc....
You gotta watch what you are doing very closely. I had a friend whose neighbor was mowing while pulling a bush hog and the guy mowing had his daughter riding on the tractor with him. She fell off and was run over by the bush hog. Did'nt stand a chance. He has'nt been right since.
Be careful out there fellas. Tractors, chainsaws, etc. are very unforgiving.

My prayers go out to your family. I sometimes think there have been more folks killed or hurt with an 8N Ford tractor than any other tractor ever made. Had two friends messed up using these with bush hawgs behind them.

As a professional firefighter in a big city, I spent 30 years seeing folks who had left this Earth when they least expected to. The one indelible lesson of my career is that we don't live forever, and the only moment we are promised is the one we are experiencing right now...

I am sorry for your neighbors' loss, and I will keep them and their grandson in my thoughts and prayers... :-)
