Where would you go for a traditional, American-made, leather flight jacket?

I've bought three from LL Bean. The first two were for my grandfather and myself. The third was to replace the one that was stolen out of my car along with about a thousand dollars worth of other stuff. Grandpa's is 20 years old, and still in great shape. Mine is 15 years old and in great shape, but I haven't worn it in several years because it's too small. You don't wear a 42, do you?

Good for you for buying American-made on this item...when I was looking for one I really didn't want a foreign-made version of a classic American jacket. I'm in Philadelphia and ended up at the Avirex store in New York to buy one. I could have bought American from one of the sites mentioned by other posters, but I really wanted to try it on first and I was spending time in NYC anyway so I made the side trip. I bought the sheepskin...I've had it about 4 years now and its holding up pretty good, but I suspect the horsehide would show less wear. Good luck.

If you can stomach Ebay, good deals can be had. I bought a Cooper A2 jacket for $105.00 a few years ago. It was listed as used but it sure seemed like new when I got it.
It was lighter in wieght than what i had imagined but lacks nothing in quality.

+1 on USW, they have several lines that are specifically American made, but do have some imports too, so look/read carefully. Also try Flightsuits AKA Gibson and Barnes in CA, I have one of their jackets, top quality.
