My first foray into the 40xx series was today, and what better place to start than with an excellent condition 4006 with box, paperwork, two mags, and throw-in gun rug and ammo? I saw this on armslist in my area and had to have it. So, I'm officially bitten by the third-gen bug.
Already planning what my next one will be
Shot it at the range with some of the 180 grain FMJ ammo, and it was flawless. So much more substantial feeling in my hand (and heavier) than my M&P 40 4.25", which I still love, but this new addition will get its share of range time too. Gotta say, though, that it's in such sweet shape I almost hate to shoot it. It's been in its box for 10 years after being carried for a year.
Not an LEO turn-in, obviously, so the usual in-service wear and tear is absolutely absent. I am one happy camper.
So you'll know, for relative value purposes as we all need a frame of reference these days, this one was four bills. I know I got a great deal; they're out there to be found, so good hunting!
