New to the group and just want to say hello!

Bought the Shield 9 a week and a half ago, loved it, then decided to really treat myself and went out this past Friday and bought the M&P9 full size. Love them both! Only about 75 rounds through the Shield and 50 through the full size. Haha .. those first 50 rounds in the full size were for my CHL test and got 2nd highest score in class.... and it wasn't all women :-) Gotta love that! Not to bad for a new gun. Both have been perfect and not one hiccup at all!

Hello and welcome from Oklahoma. Also, congratulations on your CHL test.

Congratulations! And don't let anyone tell you women can't shoot as well as men. That's utter ****. You got second best in your class, period.

Welcome Nancy !
I have bought 3 full sized M&P's this summer. The 9, 357sig with a 40 S&W barrel and a 45.
I really like them all but I think I like the 357sig the best. I reload for all of them which saves a lot of money. I have a range off my back porch so I shoot and load a lot..

Congrats. and don't believe the bull about women can't shoot as good as men. Typically, women have a steadier hand .
My wife shoots better than I. I've seen a lot of women shoot very well at the range.

Welcome from N GA!

It's part of the deal! ;)

Sounds like a great start (Shield and full size M&P), welcome to the forum!

Congrats and welcome from Indy. I also have a Shield that I love, plus an M&P 45c that I'm pretty fond of. Sounds like you have firearm acquisition syndrome as well...:p

Congratulations OP! I love my Shield 9 too. It's a reliable little gun. Wish I had kept my M&P9C and M&P9 FS, but I used the money to buy a Mossberg 930 SPX and fund a AR build and would like to get my hands on a M&P9 core sometime soon.

The Shield 9 is my EDC gun and has been for about three months now. After I bought it I took it home and completely disassembled it for a thorough cleaning and inspection then took it to the range and fired 500 rounds through it without any issues. I decided I didn't like the factory sights at all and had the Trijicon HD sights removed from my M&P9C and installed on the Shield which I absolutely love. Since then I've fired about 1000 rounds through it without any problems at all and started shooting some laid back competitions with it as well.

Here's a video of my most recent outing with the Shield:

Welcome Aboard. Shooting is not necessarily a mans' sport although at some point, upper body mass and strength do give males an advantage with the harder kicking numbers.

Welcome from Wisconsin, Happy Lady! Can't go wrong with M&P. I'd like to get a Shield someday but since I have a full size M&P 40 & a 40Compact I'll probably go for an M&P45 or 45 Compact.
