One less gun critic... thanks to the 15-22

If you really want to convince someone like that, put in a 10 rounder for the first 3 or 4 times they shoot and have them reload them...then drop the 25 rounder on them, it will change their perspective rather quickly on high capacity magazines.
It really improves the fun factor too.

Good idea. I have lots of 10 rounders so will do so next time.

Give them a 10 round short mag, then after a few of those make them only load 7 at at time for a few. Then give them a 10 round long and see if they ask why they can only load 10. Then give the 25, then give them a 50 round drum. Take them through all the emotions. Probably should put a slidefire on it as well. I'm only partially kidding...

I think the 25 rounder is just perfect. I don't have a drum and doubt I will ever get one. I know I'll never get a slidefire. Nothing wrong with them but I'm of the camp of controlled, accurate shooting. Double/triple tap is as fast as I want to see rounds head downrange.

But I do like the idea of demonstrating the gun when loading fewer rounds.

I'm at the 6 month point right now on my wait for my stamp. Currently I drive about 10 miles away to shoot on a friend's property, way out in the country with no one around. When the stamp comes in, I will start shooting on my own range. All 3 of my 22s have threaded barrels... the 15-22, the Buck Mark pistol & the bolt action CZ 455.

Yep, that's a long wait; but worth it. When I bought mine in 2010, I received the stamp in 28 days..... :)

When first looking at the title, I thunk there was one less critic cuz he was shot with a 15/22.

Glad that wasn't the case!!

And even tho I'm allowed in my State to own suppressors, none have been issued in the county in which I live, cuz the Sheriff refuses to sign off on the permits!!

I smelz a lawsuit coming over something stupid, again.

Submit your paperwork as a corporation or a trust. That way you don't need the sheriff's permission and you don't have to be fingerprinted.

Well done!! We all choose; cranky gun crank, or ambassador to the sport.

I like to challenge shooting critics with an Olympic trivia question. In the last summer Olympics, what was the sport and country of origin for the very first Gold Medal of the season? Ans: Shooting (10 meter air rifle) and it was won by Yi Siling, a Chinese female. They are always very surprised.

Then I follow up with the other many shooting sports in the Olympics, as well as the better known females in the shooting sports. This works especially well as an ice breaker for the "intellectual" inside the beltway types.
