Last year I bought a Glock 26 frame off gunbroker and threw an advantage arms 22LR conversion kit on it. Honestly this is one of the most fun guns I have ever owned, its light, low recoil, high capacity (for a revolver guy), and cheap.

If I think I am going on a hike that poses a water risk, I usually bring this instead of the 686, its my beater that new shooters get to play with.

I love this gun.... and I have to stop shooting it, at least for a little while. I realized that when I grip this gun, I place my support hand more forward and higher than I do with a revolver, which has led to problems when I switch back and pinched my support index finger behind the trigger once or... ten times. =P

I had one of those kits

Along with a extra threaded barrel. It would not work properly or continually on either of my gen. 2.5 Glock 26s, nor on most other guns I tried it on. It did work like a Singer sewing machine on a neighbor's gen. 3 Glock 27. I wanted to like it. I liked the weight and it was accurate, when it worked.

22 conversions

I have a first and second gen G17 that I run one of the advantage arms kits on. The unit is finicky about what ammo I shoot, I have had the best luck with the Federal auto match. Have always used 22 rf's for training companions to my centerfires. Used a model 18 as a companion to my K frame 38's and 357's and a Colt Ace as a training gun for my 1911's.

That surprises me, as I have never had a hiccup with mine. Some girls have limp wristed the hell out of it causing FTFs, but I give it a steady diet of CCI mini-mags and remington goldbullets (the 525 bulk pack). Both types of ammo were recommended by advantage arms, and its been flawless.

Glock 27 Fitted With A 22 Converstion Kit

I have a Glock Model 27 with the same kit you have, and it is one of my most fun/favorite guns to shoot, provided I can get enough 22 LR ammo for it. (22 ammo where I live is almost non-existent). I have NEVER had any problems whatsoever and may possibly buy another kit for my Glock Model 23.

Model39 - Yeah I agree most of NY is a barren wasteland of stores empty 22lr. Its a ways from Fairport, but Mayhoods in Norwich NY always has decently stocked shelves. Both in bricks and 50/100 round packs.
