"One Second After".....the book.

If a Really Bad Day happens, we are all, sooner or later, hosed.

Very few will be okay, and then, by a combination of sheer luck and quick thinking on the fly.

There will be some who get through it who you would never guess could, and a heck of a lot of "preppies" who thought they could, won't, and may in fact be the first to perish.

Book

It is probably impossible for some people to feed or fend for them selves so be it. like a lion born with no teeth & no one to feed him . Prepare Brother

Alas, Babylon" is another post apocalyptic novel i have read several times. Worth the time, is insightful and entertaining.

I thought it was a very entertaining book. It continues to amaze me how hard it is to return areas to some sort of normal. The residents of the Northeast are still crippled months after the Sandy storm.

I it read a year or so back and found it interesting and thought prevoking. Interesting that ammo almost became a money exchange commodity.

My favorite books of that style

Farnham's Freehold
Tunnel in the Sky
Hiero's Journey
Alas Babylon
Farmer in the Sky has good parts on survival as does Time Enough for Love
White Plague

Then again there is a lot of interesting and useful info in the Jean Auel Mammoth Hunter books

Smith Family Robinson
Robinson Crusoe

Darn now youv'e added to my reading list as I want to re-read those classics!

What really got my attention is the medicine issues. I take quite a few pills and use asthma inhalers, I never thought about the liquid medicines or how to keep those supplied!
