Optics ready M&P 15 gas block sling question

Hi everyone, on the base of the gas block on my new M&P I have what appears to be a QD swivel hole and another threaded small hole, is this small hole for a threaded swivel mount for the sling? I'm learning... Thanks guys!

No, that hole is more likely for the set screw for the gas block. Use the QD socket for your sling attachment.

I would appear you are correct. Though, I wouldn't want to mount either on the bottom of something known to get hot and get hot quick. Maybe a metal bipod but even then, you would have to remember not to touch it for a little while after a range session.

Hi and Thanks! there appears to be a hex head set screw recessed down in the small threaded hole. I'll look into M-Lok sling attachments
