Optics/Seeing help plz

I don't if this the right place, but heres goes. I wear cheap reading glasses (2.50 if that means anything). I can see pretty decent out past my arms. I have a NICE CZ 455 Varmint 22LR. I just put a brandnew Leupold 6.5x20 EFR with target dot on it, Man that thing is awesome & $800 cash. This thing will do some SERIOUS focus.Question.......should I set it up to use with wearing reading glasses or without?I have no Idea. Its a pain to wear them to load etc, them take em off to shoot. How do yall deal with it? Regards Ernie

WITHOUT.

Your reading glasses are for CLOSE-UP use.

Apparently your eyes are fine for distant viewing.

Scopes are adjused for using your DISTANT viewing.

Absolutely without Ernie (as long as you can safely see/operate the gun without your readers).

Are you going to be wearing your reading glasses when your are hunting in the woods? Fit the scope to what you will be wearing when you need to use the scope. (I can see someone fumbling with their reading glasses, trying to get them on, while the big buck just ambles into the heavy brush.)

You'll want to set the scope for use without your reading glasses. Because if you try and set it up for use with the readers I suspect that you will find that there isn't enough correction in the rear lens. These scopes are set up to put the arial image at a longer distance so you actually use your distance vision with a scope.

As for your needing your readers to load your rifle, I would suggest practice, practice, practice. Because you should be familiar enough with your rifle to load it wearing a blindfold.

You can blame John Moses Browning for introducing the Blindfolded Field Strip and Reassembly of the 1911 Colt.

He did it to show the acceptance committee how easy it was to do.

You can get clear wraparound safety glasses with a bifocal lens....I get mine at SafetyGlassesUSA. Look over the magnifier to shoot & you don't have to fumble around putting on your readers to do other close-up work
