I haven't seen this before but there is a patch/spot of what appears to be copper just inside the forcing cone, and before the rifling. It's about 7mm x 3mm. Does this have to be professionally removed or is it something done at home? Has anyone else seen this in their revolvers? It is a 41 Mag. Thx.

The most effective copper solvents are ammonia and the newer water based ones such as KG-12 which were invented for the Army.
Wipe some on the offending spot and let it rest for awhile. Swab off and repeat.
For swabbing forcing cones I have used a patch mounted on the conical Lewis lead remover on top of the brass mesh.

As above, buy a Lewis Lead Remover kit from Brownell's.
The kit includes a special forcing cone cleaner tip to remove leading and copper and carbon fouling from the forcing cone.
Even is you shoot only jacketed bullets you should still have a Lewis kit and use the forcing cone cleaner tip:
