My LGS ordered one of these in .22 magnum for me. This one is my .22 S/L/LR youth model.

I hear they're great and would love to have one in 22 magnum also. Should make a decent varmint rifle also. Receiver reminds me a little of the 1873 Winchester.

Got both the 22LR and the Magnum.Wasn't brought up on any of the older models like the Marlin so I wont argue which is better. Can't imagine anything beating the smooth operation of the Henry.

Anthony sure has put a 'whippin" on Marlin & Japchesters........
You mean 'Remlin' correct? Yea I think that was the plan - and a good one it was... A couple minor things I don't like about the Henry but more I do like - especially the locking detent with the lever. OH BTW - I have a BB in .357.

I've been wanting a small game carbine in .22 mag, with the skinner peep and large loop. Now I'm tempted by the magazine fed .308 Henry lever gun.

I have a pump, and a youth carbine both in .22lr, they've been great, but my Marlin 39's aren't going anywhere.

I bought the carbine in 22 S, L, LR. It is sweet, he had the carbine in 22 magnum next to it. I went looking at the LGS because he had a stoeger Luger in 22 LR. I seen the Henry's.

Only downside to centerfire Henry's made of brass is they are extremely HEAVY!!!!!!!!!

I don't like the way they load, with the removable tube. Like a rimfire.

Henry advertises that they are good for cowboy action shooters, when you look into it, everybody says don't get a Henry they are too heavy, and too slow to load.

Other than that, I love Henry's business ethics, very good customer service by all accounts, and " Made in America or not made at all"

I disagree: they advertised "Approved for SASS" quite a bit before they were actually approved.

Granted, NEWER Winchesters & Marlins suck canal water (We also looked at the Browning=much better), so we have a 22 for low-cost SASS practice but wifey uses her (JM) Marlin Cowboy more.

Not a big fan of the "boys rifle" loading method with the .22 style separate tube. If Henry added a loading gate they'd sell more guns, I'd buy one.

I'm the opposite to the loading gate fans. I know it's not "traditional", but I'm more often a function over form type of person.

With the loading tubes, there's none of the finger getting bit in the loading gate and you can simply dump out all the ammo when you're done for the day as well.

I'm a fairly big Henry fan - have several of the .22's from the youth model (straps to the handle bars of the quad perfectly), the Golden Boy and several others. The latest was a Christmas gift of the new stainless .45-70 that I plan on taking moose hunting.

One of these days I'm going to get one as well. One of these days.

If I win the lottery ( wife keeps telling me I need to buy a ticket for that to happen ) I'm getting one of the 1860 Henry's in 44-40 , they just look so darn good !
As for loading , I'n not in any big hurry , slow down and live !
