Being a glutton for punishment, I ordered a M&P CORE
while my 5" Pro Series is away for warranty repair of the trigger.

We'll see how this "Performance Center" trigger is.
I really like the red dot option on this for precision target shooting.

At 52, my eyes aren't as sharp as they used to be.

Deciding between the Fastfire 3 like this one or a Vortex Viper.

I have a FF3 on my CORE. its a small sight. I prefer the full size C-MORE over reflex sights. I shot my buddies M&P over the weekend. he has the Dawson Precision fiber front sight and It was really nice.

Fed Ex tracking has the CORE coming to my FFL tomorrow.

The Viper Thursday via Priority Mail.

I should have a good weekend, hopefully this trigger
is a little better then my other Pro, ironic that Fed Ex
tracking also has that arriving in Mass S&W headquarters tomorrow.

I almost ordered a 4.25" core from GrabaGun today.

I got to thinking.......do they have the CORE in Flat Dark Earth?
If I have to wait a month, I will do that....

Clarkz71,

I run a ff3 on a M&P core pro series 5in. I ran this gun in open class, and a M&P pro series 5 in in production for a couple years. I can tell you from shooting competitively having a sight that perfectly or even comes close to co-witnessing is a distraction to say the least you need the most field of view you can get with the mini reflex sights. The entire theory of co-witnessing is just that great in theory but practically not worth all the effort. If you use it as a carry gun and are worried about your reflex not working then stick with irons. I have since switched my open gun to a CZ with a C-more sight on it. Field of view and although I love the ergonomics on my M&P's the CZ runs circles around them in accuracy. My M&P's took a fair amount of load tuning to get them shooting acceptable. Good luck with your CORE enjoy if you find it shooting some what low from your POA, try some 147gr's, Mine seems to prefer 147's and 124's over 115's.

That is true...if you are doing the 6 oclock align...do the center align, and it is dead nuts.

My front was off about 1 mm, I also pushed the rear about 3/4 to the right. It is perfect for me.

I find that it is easier and much faster to find the red dot when you have sights that co-witness.

I hope that's the case for me, I like the idea of co-witness
so can leave the optic installed.

I plan on getting a 4.25" CORE for carry and selling my base M&P9 FS current CCW

Well, it arrived today, Fed Ex came through.

Trigger on "this" Pre Series is smooth, no grit on take up.
Pull measures 7 lbs

Slide rollmark / stamping is a little different from my other Pro

On the CORE, the "9" is to the right of "M&P
On the standard Pro, the "9" is right next to it almost touching.
And Pro Series is in larger font on the CORE.
Odd, the Pro CORE is March 2016 build, Pro June 2016

Is that MINE? :D

I sold my 1911 to get an M&P carry, for the last 5 days I keep going from ...the compact....no, get the 4.25" std and put good sights on it.....oh hell no, get the 4.25"core, put a Luppy on it ( auot on/dim), knock off the tall sights so finding a IWB will be better, for carry.

I still dont know what I am going to get....LOL

Interesting how they changed up the font from your CORE to mine. Bought mine in July, will have to check the build date later on.

TruckinThumper, I carry the 9c and it's an awesome EDC. You will not go wrong with either pistol you choose or end up like me and getting both.

You have the 1st version of the CORE, with cursive Pro Series.

There are 3 versions, mine was built March 2016

Love the C.O.R.E. -- my first pistol with an optic sight (senior eyes) -- the Trijicon RM07 is awesome.

I thought the C.O.R.E. with RM07 to be super fantastic (fit, feel, quality) until I bought a Walther Q5 with an RM07 -- the trigger on the Q5 is sooooo much better as it is with the HK VP09. Dunno WHY a Performance Center pistol comes with a poor target trigger compared to the Q5 and VP09 which IMHO are in a league of their own for stock triggers. (The Glock 19 MOS with RM07 and Zev Ultimate trigger tops them all but it is far from stock)

Tell me about it, I bought 2 PC Pro Series 5" M&P's
The CORE and the 5" with fiber optic green front sight, target rear.

Both have 7 lb triggers, the target model is at S&W now
We'll see if they fix it right. The CORE I'm just putting an
Apex FSS Flat face trigger kit. Not wasting my time with S&W
and the stupid hinged trigger.

That's what I have in my carry 4.25" M&P9 and it's ****.

4½ lb pull, almost no take up & a clean break.

Performance Center Core Ported

Picked up the Performance Center Core Ported last week. Combined it with the Vortex Viper couldn't be more pleased. Co witness is exactly like my M and P pro. Shoot the center of the window with the red dot 6 o'clock hold the with the irons.
