O.K. - - maybe my local 'news' is lousey, or maybe I just missed this story. But I received the following email today:
"While reports of Tuesday's shooting at the Clackamas Town Center Mall in Oregon, dominated the national media, until Friday's horrific shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Connecticut, one very important detail has been repeatedly (and intentionally) left out of the MSM's coverage.
The shooter, Jacob Tyler Roberts, was confronted with an armed citizen, at which time he ran away and shot himself. By the time police arrived on the scene, Roberts was already dead.
That armed man was 22-year-old Nick Meli, who was at the mall shopping with a young woman who was babysitting her friend's baby. "
I'd heard something about an armed citizen's regret at not shooting the killler. But nothing else about this. The email I got (above) claims that the citizen confronted the killler (which means the killer would have had to been aware that the citizen was there and armed). The claim is that this caused the killer to run away and shoot himself.
Has anyone read anything with more detail about this? If the citizen caused the shooter to run & do himself in, this would be a major story, of course. But such claims shouldnt be made if not true. In the video below, the armed citizen says the killer saw him and ran off (and soon after there was a last shot - - which must have been the killer's suicide). If the citizens story is verified somehow (maybe a witness ?) it is a major talking point that would be important to tell others.
Here's video on this. Your comments on what was reported on this would be appreciated. Its no suprise that the mainstream media hasn't covered it much. (I did a quick search here on this topic and didn't find anything. Please pardon me if this has already been covered):
