Oregon's new gun law found to be legal by Fed judge

Don't give up hope yet, Oregon is within the jurisdiction of the 9th Circuit Court, the most over-turned court in the United States. Many, if not all, 2nd Amendment cases decided unfavorably by the 9th Circuit have been over-turned by SCOTUS. This sort of thing is one reason that court appointments should not be political!
That is a good theory, but in my experience, just about everything is political, in one way or another.

So state-mandated hunter safety training is unconstitutional?

No Big difference between Hunter safety training and gun safety. Hunter safety is about hunting safety not necessarily gun safety. The 2nd wasn't about hunting. You must have it in order to purchase a archery permit. You need it to hunt but not carry a gun and practice your right to bear arms.

In Montana any one over 18 that is not a prohibited person can carry a concealed weapon with no permit. Even prior to the passage of permit-less concealed carry, that was true of open carry here. Anyone born after 1985 who wants to purchase a hunting license of any type must have passed hunter safety. That is when it became required in this state for those over 18.

Remark "More succinctly: they're apathetic."

Reply "Or it's just not something they care about."

Really?

Definition of apathy: 1. absence or suppression of passion, emotion, or excitement. IE care about

Since AI is all the rage why not ask AI ?
I would think the logic would be obvious , I am actually curious what a computer would tell us on this topic

just over 80% of the time, which is both funny and apalling. 80.4% SCOTUS case reversal rates (2007 - Present - Ballotpedia)

SCOTUS reverses itself .5% of the time is the running average. 8 Landmark Supreme Court Cases That Were Overturned | HISTORY

There is hope for Washington and California as well. Might take a few years. But as soon as a Circuit rules a firearms or magazine ban illegal, then we have split circuits, (Massachusets says they are OK) and SCOTUS has to step in. It's one of their most important duties.

I do not believe most of our problems are the result of voter apathy. The truth is far worse. The vast majority of voters go to the polls to vote against someone or the platform they represent rather than for a candidate they actually support. Selecting the lesser of two evils, dislike or even hate does not qualify as apathy.

If I do not care, I lack passion. If I care I will have some.
