Don't know too much on the history of s&w's holsters, but that one looks great! I bet a nickel gun would look great in it, nice find and enjoy!

Here is one for a 4" N frame

I am sure someone will come along with the complete photo listing of them,

The holster also fits a Colt Official Police 5". Holsters of that era were not particularly tight fitting and most will fit a couple different guns.

As far as getting the codes, I have a couple old leather brochures that I picked up off FleaBay. They were cheap and come in handy now and then. Someone had scanned a fit chart and posted it here but I haven't seen it since the move. I don't know if it's still here or not.

I have that code chart in my bookmarks
but when I bring it up it comes to the new
forum. I will try to find out who posted it.

:)Great looking holsters, and look at the quality built in
them. Wish companies could operate today as they did
30 or 40 yrs. ago. What a dream [BETTER WAKE UP]

I have one set of S&W holster charts saved in Word files;they are too large to download to this site.I'll see if I can make some jpg. files this weekend & post them. They were on the old site-I'll try to work up a set for the new site. There were some changes in the size identifiers over the years but for the most part they were fairly constant. Here's 2 photos of 2 holsters-one marked Colt, the other S&W.S&W bought the Wolfram Co. during the Bangor Punta years;prior to that Wolfram made Colt holsters.
