This was our second week at the Sheriff's Citizens Academy and tonight was quite interesting also. No Sniper team like last week (after a real sniper shooting of a bank robber earlier that day), but they did two live polygraph (lie detector) test with two volunteers. It was amazing on just how sensitive the Lafayette polygraph equipment was.

The second hour was the Internal Affairs Division. Nothing earth shattering that we learned there, but nice to see they were doing their jobs. The last hour was about cyber crime, hacking and scamming. Lots of information and ways to avoid becoming a victim. As many of us know, the criminals always seem to stay one step ahead. They gave us many pointers, suggestions and advise to say safe and secure.

Next week to the forensics lab and I am looking forward to that!

My last six years before I retired were with CSI. You'll probably enjoy the presentation. We did them every year for the Citizen's Academy. I used to end my portion with a reminder to the class to wear their pajamas to bed because if they died at home we took pictures of the potential crime scene! It usually got a laugh but the sheriff made me stop. ;)
