Our Sheriff's Department Has a Sense of Humor

My last Police vehicle looked about like this and had a Kojak revolving light on the dash that I could throw out the driver window and magnet to the roof. It was a beautiful shade of brown and had a 6 cylinder engine. Not exactly Starsky and Hutch.....

But did you carry a S&W Model 29, with a 6 1/2 inch barrel, in a shoulder holster?

Actually I carried a 29-2 in a shoulder holster one time. I pulled it on a building search and came around a corner to a drunk looking for a place to sleep in a warehouse he'd broken in and sent off an alarm. He immediately surrendered when he came face to face with 6.5 inches of nickel in his face. The deputy sheriff that was with me got a good laugh. The 29 was not mentioned in the report. We had a detective that carried one that eventually became the head guy at the Nebraska State Patrol. I do live on Callahan Drive, which I find funny.

Florida Sherrifs are great folks, outside of the few "big city tools.". About 10 years ago Polk deputies cornered a very bad guy and shot him 135 times. When asked "Why shoot him so much?" Grady Judd said something like "They stopped shooting when ammo ran out.". Joe

That's awesome! Should we call you "Harry"? :D

Some of the officers have very nice patrol cars.

I rented a 2019 GT this past summer when the wife and I went to visit our oldest son for his army basic graduation. Fun car! Unfortunately it had flappy paddle shifters, but it was still a good time.

There would be less crime and jail time if they........

took out the TV's , cig's and games etc.

and handed out sledge hammers and showed them where the rock pile is !!

Since when is jail time a "Fun" thing.......... ??

That is what is wrong with these times.

I like it!
And I approve of the funding source.

This reminds me of Sheriff Joe Arpaio of Maricopa County, AZ.
He's the one that made male inmates do work and wear pink.

Maybe they could find a little more funding to update the sign and include Doug627's item, the free body cavity search.
Yep! I'd kick in a few bucks to get that one right!
