I just got my first N frame and my first .44 Magnum, a 6" 29-3. :D
The S/N dates to fall 1986.

I had an M&P9c that was getting a little dusty, so I sold it and all of the extras I had with it. That raised me enough money to buy the 29 with no out-of-pocket expense.

It's funny how things can come full circle - I bought the M&P with money I got from selling a 686 no-dash, and now I sold it and got a 29-3.
I went from steel to plastic, then back to steel.
I think I got it right this time. :D

I haven't had a chance to shoot it yet (have to load some ammo first) but I am anticipating a lot of fun with this gun. It will become a hunting gun once I develop a load, etc.

That's one of the better dash 3's.... It has the classic roll mark on the ejector shroud. Later dash 3's would not, and would also have a flat spot on top of the right side of the blast shield.congratulations nice gun

Best before and after pics I have seen in quite some time!!!

Now that I have brought you to the dark side of big bore N-frames.... I'll be ready when you want to start talking X-frame to continue expanding your collection and broadening your horizons! :D

Congrats man!! Enjoy!

Besides, they don't make 'em in blue. ;) :D

I'm tellin ya... theres just something about the power of a 45-70 in a handgun.. :D

And I'll color it with a sharpie for ya if that will make it pretty enough to suit your liking.. LOL!

Power of a 45/70 for a short distance. My 338wm has 4,000ft.lbs @ muzzle and the muzzle energy of a 30-06 @ 200yds that's 2,700ft.lbs @ 200yds.

I collect red too IH red. Well white n yellow too also IH.

All plastic for all steel, sweet deal, you did real well. As long as you got something else for everyday use

I sold my m&p 45c to get the same gun found it my LGS for $569 first time out on Wednesday had a BLAST mine came with extra pair of Pachmyer grips highly recommend for the heavy loads definitely my favorite.

You know... it's funny you mention the 338WM... ;) Just got a new m70 SG in 338WM!

I had a couple IHC's in the past... a '42 H and a '55 300. But now it's just old Honda ATC's. :D

The 338wm is old school when compared to the newer wizz bang calibers of today. When I touch her off at the range I shake my head and say why did I buy this cannon. But I hit a bear and she went up in the air and landed upside down dead on the spot she bled out. The 225gr bullet broke three ribs on the exit. Using new Winchester super 225gr ammo my '94 Remington 700 can put two bullets through the hole at 100yds. I wanted a new caliber big enough to hunt the thin skinned game anywhere in the world. I knew the 30 cals were out of the question. The 375 H&H was also in the running. I chose the 338wm back in '94. My only regrets is I didn't get the Browning BAR in 338wm. As I get older I'm sure the recoil is going to be harsh on me. But she's my bear rifle. Bill

Nothin' wrong with the M&P9C especially as a carry gun. But you've definitely upgraded with your new revolver, Hillbilly. Congrats!

What are you going to carry now?

I drank the Shield Kool-Aid. :o :p

Nothing wrong with that, either. I had a .40 Shield for several months, and enjoyed shooting it. Wasn't exactly the pocket pistol I had hoped it would be, as it was kinda heavy and printed too much in the pants I wear, but it's a solid and reliable EDC. Mine never had the mag ejection issues that some of the later production ones did, that I think have been entirely resolved now. I shot a lot of different ammo in it and never once had a FTF or FTE.

That little bulldog would bark, I tell you!
