Outstading movie music, not themes

I suppose I'm a little picky as most of the movie scores mentioned so far are mediocre and not at all memorable. However, some that stand out (and some of these have already been mentioned) include many scores by Elmer Bernstein (he was the best in my opinion), Cincinnati Kid, and Hour of the Gun. I'm sure I'll think of a few more.

I can't remember any of the music in Last of the Mohicans, probably because the movie wasn't a great one.

Doctor Zivago (spelling?) had an excellent sound track,Streets of fire, Ten Commandments by Cecil De Mill and one of my spagetti westerns the good,The bad and The ugly. Frank

Yes, Doctor Zhivago, great movie and soundtrack.

And a fairly recent one, A League of Their Own.

I always liked the music from, Lonesome Dove.
The main music theme is, Lorena, my favorite Civil War song.
Diane Lane's character's name is, Lorena Wood aka Lori Darlin'

The "78 classic FM. 20 mid 70s rock'nroll songs. Movie's plot was a bit weak, but the fist time I saw it, the girl I took to it had 4 Michelobs in her purse and we enjoyed the music more than the movie.

A classic soundtrack of classic music would be Forrest Gump.

Some of the best tunes ever on it.

I also like Oh Brother Where Art Thou in movies.

And one of the best ground breaking sound track TV shows was Homicide Life On The Streets.

They introduced many new songs/artist to the TV watching public.
