I have a question that I cannot seem to get a definitive answer to. I have a 39-2 and a 908 and I would like to know if either pistol can handle +p rounds. I would only use that kind of ammunition sparingly- maybe 50-100 rounds a year.

I am also considering buying someone's old 559. I imagine it being an all steel gun this question wouldn't apply as much?

Thanks in advance.

I would not hesitate to use the occasional +P in either, but I especially would not hesitate to do so in the 908.

Thanks again Shawn

I plan on only going through few mags in the 39 just for the sake of function testing modern jhp rounds.

Greetings,
+P? Knock yourself out. I've heard stories of people going though thousands and thousands of +P+ loads through alloy frame pistols. I've ran +P+ through mine and my pistols and I are a okay

Do you think the reason might have been more political than practical? Just a thought.

I've shot much 9mm +P in my 3913, and a ton of it in my 910. No ill effects with either pistol. I do change the recoil springs more frequently after a few thousand rounds though. Regards 18DAI.

That is good to know 18DAI about the 910. I am considering my next 9mm to be either a 559 or that.

Jon, take a look at the other thread regarding +P+ ammo. I posted a couple quotes in there that you might be interested in.
Take care
