P322 on the way but…

….Since I live in the Canada of America a threaded barrel is a no no so the shop said they will pin the barrel. I did some YouTube surfing and it looks like they drill, pin the threads through the cap then spot weld the pin. I hope it’s done well. But it doesn’t seem like too tough a job.

How will you remove the barrel if the thread protector is P&W’ed?

I think its thin enough. The slide rides over the threaded part when the adapter is on. I guess its just a shortened adapter.

They are not going to pin the thread adapter that allows 1/2x28 things to be put on the barrel, they are going to pin the cap that protects the 10MM threads of the barrel itself.

BTW, the P322 is a great little pistol. I have had mine for about a week now.

You are going to like the pistol

It feeds and shoots all of the 22LR ammunition that I have on hand. That is Aguilla, American Eagle, Winchester, Federal, Eley and Remington. No other 22 autoloader that I own shoots everything.

It also functions suppressed with all the subsonic ammunition that I have on hand. All of my other autoloaders have preferences when firing subsonic ammunition

The factory supplied 20 round magazines are very easy to load with the supplied loading aid.

The fiber optic sights are nice and bright out in the daylight, not so much indoors

Somewhere along the line I am going to put a Romeo Zero on it, but not until I have a real feel for the pistol.

It is just like EVERY Other 22LR barrel out there

The barrel has 10MM threads on it. These sit under a cap that is the same diameter as the barrel

For suppressor use, you remove the cap and use a 10MM to 1/2x28 adapter.

This system has been in use by SIG, Smith & Wesson, Beretta, Walther and the other major manufacturers for many years now

I do not have any pinned or restricted barrels on my firearms as I live in a FREE State of the Union

I have permanently attached the caps for folks that reside in the Draconian States, but I just silver solder the caps in place, I do not bother to pin them

I am unfamiliar with threaded .22 barrels and suppressors, though the Dead Air Sandman S I bought my son last November is now in his possession. I may look into a .22 suppressor to use on our S&W 2214/622/2206 series pistols; but those use a different method of attachment.

Thanks. On a side note, the gun is not on cal roster but I am exempt from the 10 round limit. But the barrel threads are still a no no. Apparently, there are states that limit capacity but still allow a suppressor? Anyway, I was thinking I might prefer 10 rounders anyway if they are easier to load…also my kid won’t burn through the ammo so fast. Also with 10 rounders I can leave him the gun down the road and it will be compliant. If of course in 5 or 10 years we don’t become Canada.

By the way, check out the holosun red dot. It’s a bit more money but people rave about its features…especially a slide out battery tray so you don’t need to remove the sight to replace it.

I guess that line should have read "Modern 22LR" The pre-threaded 10MM barrel and adapter is only on designs during the last decade

Your older Smith & Wessons (1987 design) need to have the barrel nut replaced with a nut that has suppressor threads on it. You will have to buy a barrel nut wrench and the new nut. Total cost is about $60 with both being available from EKW. He makes good stuff

The Holson is about the same size, but I do not worry too much about having to remove the Romeo zero to do the battery change. The Romeo zero is supposed to run for 20,000 hours on a single battery.

Even if it only lives up to half that it is still pretty awesome battery life

Hell why don't they just put a dab of JB Weld on the threads like you would with old fashioned pipe dope??
