Two MAJOR upsets: the Dodgers and Braves. This can't be good for ratings and viewership. Whatever one's feelings about a specific team. MLB has always preferred a NY/LA series: the 2 major TV markets. Yes, it's nice to have a pair of small market teams duke it out (just kidding), but who wants a St. Louis/Kansas City WS, as once happened?
The Dodgers manage to win games in spite of Dave Roberts, not because of his so called great managerial skills. I was not surprised at their early exit this year.
I was very happy to see the largest payroll get eliminated early. It seems strange that other sports want the best games not necessarily the biggest cities. NBA still had plenty of people watching Milwaukee and Phoenix. NHL with Jacksonville and Denver. I see it as just another clue that MLB commissioners office is on a downhill run.
I was quite happy because it gives the Astros home field through the Post Season. Don't care who wins between Cleveland and New York. Although, I really enjoy beating New York. I think the Astros making it to the World Series would help the ratings because people would tune in hoping they lose.
