Painting Front Sight on Fixed Sighted Revolvers

I used Broadway Nails "Bora Bora" for my 60-4 that I just picked up a few days ago.

I like it so much that I left a review on some blog.

Nail polish remover is acetone with oils in it to protect the nails. M.E.K. is the best sovent to remove oils and soils on your sight. IT WILL dissolve some plastics as will acetone and lacquer thinners.M.E.K stand for methyl ethyl keytone. All 3 of these solvents are keytones used in industry from solvents to chemical extractors to thinners. Be careful with them. Vapors can over come you in closed environments. Spillage can result in damaged finishes on wood to melting some plastics. ALL are VERY flammable.

I have several. A 10-8, a 64, a K38 Masterpiece, a 640 no dash, and now a 681. I'd like to paint the front sights. Some youtube videos kind of suck and I get tired watching them to see if they are good. I'm looking for as bright as possible. Neon green, red, or orange would be fine. Probably leave the K38 alone. Why mess with a 60 year old gun?

I want it to be completely reversable and able to be wiped off if I get any on the finish. I will tape off the area around the sight.

So advice would be helpful!

NEON GREEN, 0VER A BASE COAT OF WHITE. THAT'S THE LAST COLOR OF THE SPECTRUM TO DISAPPEAR IN LOW LIGHT.....

APPLY IT WITH A TOOTHPICK, RATHER THAN A BRUSH......

I use fingernail polish...not on me, on the sights! My instructed me to put on a coat of white first to make it brighter.

Then I like orangish red as the top coat. Durable but will come off with nail polish remover.

Here's some on a Charter Arms Bulldog .44 special

and the list goes on...

Same here; but when the color coat is dry, I apply a coat of clear " Hard Nails" ( Wally World ). I've never had issues with solvents, oils, grease, etc. :)

I use Testor's model paint from the hobby shop. First white and after that dries, fluorescent pink.
