Last year I got both of these Model 39-2s; one from my local gun shop and the other in trade with forum member Mikez:

I got them both to the range today - finally; I had one knee replaced in January and the other in March and living in Michigan...well you know.

The older gun (from 1972) shot a little bit lower then the other one; the rounds outside the black (and just touching) on the bottom target are from that gun; the rest of the rounds on both targets are from the other gun. I'll take both guns; but for carry I'll carry the newer one...

Great guns aren't they? I have 4 of them and they are all flawless in function and have always been very accurate for me. I have used them in IDPA shoots and have been thrilled with the results!

Are those two different versions of the Pachmayr grips?

My 439 wears the non-medallion grips. I wish I could get some for my 5906 or 6906

You can't go wrong with a 39-2, they are comfortable, accurate, and reliable guns. Enjoy both of your 39's.

Very nice, but I believe there is some rule about not owning 2 classic Smiths. You can go ahead and send the second one to me. I wouldn't want you to get into any trouble. :D
