I say

Take the mountain gun and carry and hunt with it. My vote is with the MG. Plus I am just a huge S&W fan so the third wasnt even an option, even though I really like and have nothing against Ruger I am a HUGE S&W fan:D

If you're a serious shooter then it's gotta be the Classic - that's what they're made for is shooting 44 mags.

If you like to sit around the coffee table and fondle it or take it to BBQ's, then the other Smith (the mg.)

If you do a lot of fishing when you're camping then the other will make a great anchor!

It'd have to be the mountain gun for me.
It's the prettiest (subjective I know) & would be the easiest for me to pack.
Plus I just seem to shoot better with a gun I really like & I really like the Mountain Gun.

Yes, you definitely should get rid of the Ruger. Send it to me and I will make sure that it is disposed of properly! :)

The Ruger is my "end of the world" revolver, but barring that scenario, I'll take the Mountain Gun.

Im from Ohio and the minimum Bbl length to hunt with is 5 inch's, that why I picked the 5 inch classic. The mountain gun would be a great choice too however.

I actually did carry a 4" Redhawk concealed for a few years. Taking my experience into consideration, I voted for the Mountain Gun.

The Redhawk has its share of flaws. The internals break more easily than those of the S&W, ignition can be spotty, certain parts are not available to the public under any circumstancs and getting a custom gun repaired is a nightmare.

Keep the 5". Sell me the Ruger. Sell the MG to someone else.

For concealed carry, a few ounces and an inch can make a significant difference. For open carry, or 'discrete carry' as I prefer it in Arizona, an extra inch won't matter much. And I would like to own a Redhawk, although it would involve a huge fight with my wife...bought a Blackhawk 3 days ago, and our budget doesn't allow for another gun purchase.

For full power 44 loads, my 4" Model 29 just doesn't do the job for me. Although, to be honest, in most of the lower 48, an extra-power 44 special makes for a pretty good "sidearm for camping, hiking, etc."

Bench rest all three at 50 yds; keep the one with the best groups. If there is not too much difference between the 2 S&W's; obviously, the mtn gun should be chosen.

I don't shoot my mtn gun half as well as my 6" 29 classic; so for me, I would choose the heavier gun.

Keep the MG,easier for carry. Did you really think someone on this forum would have picked the Ruger?

If it was a Blackhawk I might have voted Ruger. Cheap, reliable, and smaller/lighter than the Redhawk. Keep the MG
