Parker Hale

My uncle gave this rifle to me years ago, it is a Parker Hale with British proof marks and is built on a Mauser action. It is chambered in 22-250. Anybody know anything about these rifles? It is well built and on a calm day shoots 5.5" groups at 600 yards. (Wind is killer on a 55 gr bullet). There is no Model Number that I can find, just a serial number and the importer. Thanks.

Great rifles, they used to be the builder of the British sniper systems till Accuracy International took over the contract.
Yours looks like a model 1200.

That would be a fixed 12 with a very thin cross hair and dot.

No, you're just fine. If I let on here the stuff that goes on in my head you would think I'm nuts. As far as that rifle goes, I don't know much about it except I gave one just like it but in .270 to my brother-in-law. Yeah. He's a nice guy. I don't remember the scope on it. They seem like the Brits wanted to make a rifle that resembled a Weatherby (see below).

P-H also made a classic-stocked version. I believe the actions were by the Spanish arsenal at La Coruna.

P-H was mainly known as an accessory maker and provder of gun solvents and oils. They offered many sporterized SMLE and No. 4 and Pattern 14 rifles, too.

Interesting you mention Parker Hale. I have a rifle that has Midland Gun company written on it, I have been told it is actually a Parker Hale. It is in 270 weatherby mag caliber. Hard to find very much info on them. They are good shooters.

it's a great rifle. And as you know the accuracy is superb. BTW, I have a fixed 12X Leupold with the regular crosshairs and I love it.

I know the parker/hale shotguns are priced thru the roof now my question is are the bolt actions priced higher too?
