I have been shooting a Victory model in 38S&W. I have others and have dedicated this particular revolver to shooting. I would like to know if I can change the hammer to a .375 inch hammer of a more recent production, and are the springs interchangeble to lighten the trigger pull with the more modern K frame revolvers? I have ordered springs from Brownell in the past to lighten the trigger pull on a couple more modern revolvers and wonder if those K frame springs will work in a 1942 revolver.

My GUESS is yes. The spacing and the geometry should be the same (I think). It is an inexpensive try, and if it doesn't work you can always put the old ones back in and keep the springs for future use.
I understand the desire for a more ergonomic hammer spur, no, the later wide spur will not interchange. When the post war hammer was introduced, the action was also modernized to what's known as the high or short action. Your best solution is to have width added to your hammer spur by micro welding. Or for nicer results obtain a worn wide spur hammer, cut off your spur and weld the wide spur on. Gunsmiths usually have old hammers in a drawer and give you one. Members here would as well, just advertise in the classified section of this forum.

Thanks Hondo44. In the back of my mind I had heard of the newer short action change, hence my original question, I guess. I have hammers changed on newer revolvers and thought a wider hammer would be nice on this shooter Victory. How about springs? Is there a special set I can order from somewhere to lighten the action some?
Wolf springs are good but there's lots of choices. Go to brownells, midway USA or just google.

Will the Wolff or Wilson spring kits for the K frame work for the older Victory revolver? I see the springs advertised on Midway and Brownells, just want to make sure the springs will work before spending the money.
I know of no reason why they wouldn't.

Where do you think Midway and Brownells get the spring from? (probably Wolff)
The best way to be sure is to write Wolff and ask them.
