I have dug through the “miscellaneous “ bins at pawn shops for years looking for a jewel. Finally found one. A S&W SAT from the 50’s. Now I feel validated for all that digging. Found a nice 8 row SAT. Picked up another small screwdriver and was out the door for $1. I have a couple of 22 and 38 Masterpieces that the new SAT will go with.

I always look for the “clearance “ table or box in a pawn shop or gun store.

Have been able to acquire pistol rugs, holsters, and grips over the years.

Nice grab. I’m sure you can realize a handsome profit if so desired
There used to be an old lady at the gun shows that had a couple tables with margarine tubs sorted out $1, $2, $5. I was rooting around the $1 tub and spotted a Colt marked Detective Special hammer shroud in near mint condition. For a buck? Are you kidding me?

A friend just found one of those in a tackle box. He ask me
the value and I had no idea. Anyone want to give me a
estimate?

The best junk box score I've had was on a dealer table at a gun show. He should have known better because he was one of the big time dealers with high dollar collectibles. It was a prewar S&W N frame grip adapter. $5.00, he asked me if I knew what it was and all I said was " sure". I would love to find some nice SATs.
