The local branch of a chain of pawn shops opened a consolidated gun counter in an effort to get the handguns and EBRs out of Austin. A decent selection of S&W handguns were in the cases. For the most part the revolvers were all well over priced. M&P pistols were marked about what the gun shops get for new. The first and second gen autos were priced about right compared to the local market.

With the three birthdays and an anniversary in addition to all the Christmas spending this month they had to go on layaway. Both are about 90ish% no boxes. The 39 was marked $449.95, the 645 495.99. Manager took $50 of each. Pics when I pick them up.

Needs a good cleaning. It has some holster wear. The barrel looks almost new.

The model 39's are the best IMHO. Mine made in 1976 has never had a failure, no matter what ammo I run through it. And I shoot a lot of Winchester White Box which I know causes problems for other guns. It is a sweet shooter and the accuracy is better than I can wring out of it. It also fits my hand better than many other pistols. It's the right size too, not too big or too small. I've tried many of the newer 9 mm pistols with the short grips...if someone can shoot well with them, God bless you. I can't hold the small grips well and my hands are not that large. I also notice that a lot of manufactures are going back to single stack mags with the accompanying slimmer grips. well, with the model 39 you already have that.
All in all, these are the reasons I feel that the model 39's are the best of the best.
