Does anyone know if Paypal requires some extra verification to transfer inbound funds out to your credit/debit card?

A few years back they started talking about some kind of extra verification they were going to require and I just drained the account and haven't used it since.

I've read way too many stories of them putting a "hold" on other people's money.

I'd like to sell an item and have the inbound funds go into my bank account. I can not for the life of me find an answer on PP website.

Thanks

I can easily transfer PayPal funds to pay my PayPal credit card. Don't know how it would work with a different card. Have also transferred PP funds to my bank account.

Can't answer. I closed my PP account years ago due to their social stances and anti gun stances among other reasons.

I never opened an account. For the same reason. I lost an auction on another site because I refused to pay through pay pal.

I prefer paying with USPS money orders for personal purchases. It just seems quicker & safer to me. But, I suppose with online auctions, if PayPal is all they accept, I won't be able to bid on anything. We've been getting calls on the answering machine about our PayPal acct. being hacked, usually for some random amount of money, like $237.89. We don't have one!

The easiest way to get your funds is to have a bank account linked to the PayPal account. Then it is just a couple of clicks to transfer the funds to the checking account. I know, you read horror stories about people's bank accounts being cleaned out etc., But I've been doing it for 20+ years and never a problem.

PayPal works fine. It’s my preferred method of paying and receiving funds from online transactions.

When money goes into my PayPal account, I transfer it to my checking account. The funds arrive in about 1 business day. You can pay them 1% and have the funds show up immediately, but I want it all! You need to link your bank account to do that. I believe they transferred $1 to my PP account when I first listed it, just to verify that it’s a valid bank account.

I have my American Express card, my Discover card and a checking account linked on PP. If I’m buying something from an established seller, I pay with Discover to get the cash back. If I’m a little leery of the seller, I’ll use the AmX card.

If you’re an established seller on eBay with a good track record and you keep your buyers happy, your payments are available immediately. If an ebay dispute is opened, they hold the funds until a resolution is reached.

I refuse to do business with PP, for the same reasons.

If there is something I want, that I can only be purchase via PP, then guess what, I REALLY do NOT need it, or want it.

I've only used PP a few times. Linked to my bank account when using, then unlink when not. It's pretty simple to do. I think they withdraw a dollar or two to make sure it's valid, then stick it back in there.

If I used it a lot, and if I was concerned, I'd set up a separate checking account with an appropriate balance for this specific purpose. But I don't use it much, and I think they are a pretty secure, legit financial outfit, so I don't have concerns using them.

A lotta folks nowadays prefer Venmo, which is very similar, and, I think, owned by the same folks. I find it a little harder to use, but I think that's just because I am even less familiar with it.

I formerly used PayPuke and 100% refuse to use them now for exactly the same reasons. I set up Zelle with my bank and it couldn't be easier or faster and it doesn't support the leftist anti-gun, anti-Freedom, anti-America agenda that PayPuke and Venmo support.

Zelle works great. I would love to see it's popularity rise.

I appreciate everyyone's thoughts here. I'll probably set up a second pp acct and transfer back and forth and see how it goes.

They did something a couple of years back that I can't remember what exactly but it seemed like I was going to have to give up my first born or something to keep using it.

I have a free checking account that my bank provides. I use it strictly for PP. If I buy something I transfer just enough $ in to cover what I need to send. If I sell something I immediately transfer the received funds out to my regular account.
All of this is done from my easy chair using on-line banking.

If you read the fine print in the service agreement, you will find under Prohibited Payments: "Firearms, ammunition, and related items", or words to that affect. I believe this is true with all the payment services.

Guess they’re asleep at the wheel because that’s mostly what I buy with PP, and I use friends and family to do it. In fact, I just bought bullets from a forum member via PP. :)

Ditto on that.

You can transfer the funds after they go to Paypal to your bank account. I would not use them for any gun parts guns or related business as they may not work with you if you lose your money or have any issue as it is against their rules being anti firearms people. I have risk it for smaller purchases on components though knowing it was against their rules.

I've always wondered, are they really anti gun - or any more so than other financial institutions?

Or are they just afraid of getting drug through the mud - or even into court - if some jackwagon buys a gun online (maybe illegally) and then uses it to shoot up a school or theater or whatever? I've always wondered if that might be the case wit both PayPal and eBay.

I'm thinking of something like what happened with Armslist a few years ago when they got sued for "facilitating" the sale of a gun to a criminal who ended up shooting someone with it.

Never transferred it to a credit card but I have to my debit card that goes directly into my checking account with no waiting period.
