pc'd bullets vs traditional cast/sized/lubed bullets

This thread just shows how great reloading and shooting are. A shooter can get into it as deep as they want or as little as they need. I have to admire the dedication some guys have in the pursuit of perfection. Me I am mostly a hunter and I only get as deep as I need to so that when the shot comes I am prepared. I also am a self admitted traditionalist. Sort of if it works why change but sure would never want to keep anyone else from experimenting. Most shooting advances are driven by the experimenters. I never intended to rain on the PC/polymer parade and hope the advocates did not take it that way. I am just not there yet or may never be.

I tried my first Bayou Bullets load last week and they seemed to work OK, but I didn't like the smell of that burning/melting coating. I was indoors and the smell reminded me of overheating electronics, not a smell I associate with shooting. I'll be testing some more but so far I'm not all that excited.

Donnie Miculek at Bayou is a great guy, I too have shot his Bayou bullets and noticed the smell. I decided to try the Missouri Bullets coated.........I suggest you give them a try as I don't notice the smell and they shoot well for me in 9mm and 45 Colt both.
