Anyone tried this? I ordered a case of it a while back. It impressed me to the point that I ordered another case. It is pretty stout to not be +P. One test on the web showed over 900fps from a 4" bbl. I have been looking for some full power and weight fmj .38spl. Looks like I found some. The price is right on case lots from several on-line vendors. Thoughts, anyone?

My father in law uses it in all the 38 sp/357 that he own. Good ammo, decent price. He bought it at Bass Pro Shop in Miami

Perfecta has worked well in all my pistols, auto and revolver. Haven't used any 38's but their .357 mags kick like little mules.

Interesting comments on Perfecta ammo. The 9mm was popular around here for IDPA where 9mm shooters abound. They all got it from Walmart stores but it disappeared from them. What stores are you guys finding it?

Doing a search, it looks like the Perfecta ammo is manufactured by Fiocchi..
This is what I have read in multiple threads about different calibers
of Perfecta ammo. I've also read that European ammo in general (and Fiocchi specifically) is often loaded a little hotter than American made in the same caliber.
So what the OP says about the Perfecta he bought falls right in line with everything I've read. I buy very little factory ammo since I prefer to load my own any way I like it for less than half the price, but I still wish Wally World carried Perfecta. It seems like good ammo and it was always decently priced - and downright cheap when they would put it on sale.

Like others have said good ammo, I shot a lot in 38 spl. from Wally world. When it was on sale it was about the same price I could load up a box for. Walmart doesn't seem to have it any more so I guess I'm out of luck. The brass is actually pretty good, loads up just fine and is within specs. I do remember that the factory stuff burnt really clean, the spent cases looked almost new inside, but that only lasted till one reload with Unique.

I've shot a lot of Perfecta, but with ammo prices for Federal below $9.00 per box of 50 FMJ 9mm as of today, my guess is that the Italian stuff just couldnt go any lower. I'm sure not complaining about the price or the Perfecta ammo, if I could still get it that is.

I have wondered why Wal Mart dropped it.

I don't know this to be fact, but at the time the scuttlebutt and conjecture was that they refused to provide it to WalMart for the price that WalMart demanded so WallyWorld decided to stop carrying it.
Apparently this type of demand on a supplier is common from the worlds largest retailer.
Or so the story goes...

I'm getting the Perfecta 38 spcl 158gr fmj online for 26 cents per round. The shipping has gotten steadily higher but I don't have to drive around looking for it.
Is this a decent cost or do I actually need to look at "brick & mortar" stores for a better deal?

I have not found any 38 special ammo but do use the 9mm ammo, when available.

No problems with this ammo and the case loads as well as the other factory stuff.

I am hoping that it shows up again.........
I'll buy it.

Wal mart used to sell the Perfecta brand at very cheap prices. I now reload so it has been awhile since I have looked for ammo but they may very well still sell it now. I was most impressed with it also. At such a reduced price I was reluctant but thought it was great ammo when I finally did shoot it. I would buy some more in a heartbeat if I was to need manufactured ammo again for some reason. I am sure the brass I had kept from the Perfecta is on 5th or 6th reloading and still going strong. Good stuff

This pressure tested by Larry Gibson at 20,100psi and 1107fps from a contender 7.9" barrel so it would be +P if SAAMI were consulted.I have seen it reported on you tube to chronograph right at 900fps from a 4". I am glad to see that is as stout as I thought.........
Also it seems to be out of production at this time..........
