Patina is a dirty word to some collectors, but this shooter grade model 28-2 (1967) is one of my favorites. Not a speck of rust, pitting or freckling in the finish, and mechanically perfect, this revolver is a great shooter. To me, beautiful with its imperfections.

There is no such thing as perfection in a manufactured product. Perfection is just a concept. If you think something is perfect it means that you just haven't looked at it closely enough.

I think you missed the point.
Something special about a piece that show honest wear, yet obviously has been cared for as evidence by no rust/damage. A working piece that has been well cared for. Love it.

I have many guns that I purchased used...no problems as long as it was use and not abuse.
I have a Colt Cobra I got used...carried off-duty for years when a LEO...if I didn't like it or have complete faith in it I wouldn't have done so.

The 5th generation guns are not a redesign. Just adding grip back straps for different hand sizes. Also ambidextrous safeties for lefties if needed. With the 5th generation guns Glock can make perfection available to even more people than their already huge market share

I like your way of thinking...well-used, but well cared-for. This one is a 27-2 with a replaced 6" barrel. The barrel was refinished. Grips are custom Herretts. It's a revolver I use often. Superbly accurate, but with a refinished barrel and non-standard stocks. It, along with my K22, are "using pieces". It's perfect for me.

My first 28-2 was a really early one I bought at a pawn shop in Vegas in 1980. It had a ton of finish wear, but had a nice action job, a target hammer and trigger, and a pair of new rubber grips on it. I almost got it back when it appeared in a GB listing from a Reno gun store 26 years later. I forgot about the end of the auction and missed it by a dollar.
