I was at Academy today, getting some co2 tanks refilled. While I waited, I wandered back to the gun section. I slowly walked down the counter,. seeing a few interesting pistols, & then to my surprise, I saw a PC 1911. My heart skipped a beat...I asked to see it. That Scandium frame must make all the difference because it wasn't anywhere near as heavy as I thought it might be. The salesman asked me what I thought & I told him "if this was the RB version, we'd be doing paperwork right now!" So, I'm still looking.

I wasn't aware that production of those guns is limited. You would think that S&W would advertise that fact - or did I miss it? Anyway, I'm glad I got one, too!

I had no idea that they made them in such small numbers. I just purchased the full size/stainless PC model. Are they as limited as well?

That's what I have and I can't find anything that mentions limited production numbers.

As I stated in my post above, if that is true, I'm glad I was able to get one. Maybe I should have gone for the Scandium-framed carry model as well but I preferred the Trijicon Night Sights of the E-Series version.

Beautiful photo. That's the 'pairing' I hope to someday end up in my safe. I'm half-way there, but the smaller round butt is going to be harder as CA just (end of year) ended the SSE program which allows the purchase and registration of non-CAL-DOJ-approved handguns. These models are not on the list, so I purchased the full size in time, but no time left for the second one. Oh well.

I had watched a TV program 3 weeks ago on the performance whole 4th 1911. It stated that only 500 would be produced this hear. That is how I know.
