Performance 4006?

The Performance Center made a .40 cal version of the 945 back in 2001 or 2002..

There are also the various Lew Horton, RSR, etc.. RECON/Tactical models, which would all be closer to the 4006.

All would be pretty rare, although I couldn't say which ones would be easier to find.

There is one for sale on Gunbroker right now. $1995. A 5" Lew Horten 4006. Regards 18DAI.

They also made this:

3rd Gen Performance Center .40 Tactical with no model number. Catalog #170091 made in 1997

It's the only .40 I have and I don't think I would ever sell it.

Clang444 and 18DAI:

Thanks, that's EXACTLY what I was looking for. (The two-tone looks really good.)

Too bad it's a major pain in the a** to ship it over to Europe.

I stumbled across a PC 4006 some years back. Really nice pistol, I like that it's single action. Second from the right, 5", all stainless with great adjustable rear sight.

Nice lookin' 40s. I've been lucky enough to find two 5" PC 40s, one with a 5 1/4" barrel and another with a comp on the end. I think they are both Lew Horton guns. I bought them probably 3-4 years ago and have yet to shoot either of them. I'll try to post pics later.

Mine gets shot - I bought it used no box, etc, and the price was cheap enough, so I have no qualms about shooting it. Besides, it's going to take a heck of a lot of ammo to wear this one out.

BTW - mine is Traditional Double Action.

I like the set-up so much I am in the process of putting together a 9mm version just like it(but without the Briley bushing like the .40 has). I should be done in a month or two.

Extremo,
The closest model to your TC, is the 40 Limited = 5" single action with adjustable sights

The slide show on the home page of our web site has a picture of my 5" PC 4006 (it's the one right after the blue 952), it's a TDA gun and I've been shooting it in Limited 10 for the last couple of years. I was told they made 200 of these a few years ago but the only other one I've ever seen had a different slide profile and a slightly extended barrel.

I just picked up a Performance Center 4006. I found this NIB at a Gander Mountain here in Indianapolis. It has been sitting there for almost a year. They bought it from a dealer that was selling his stock. They originally had it priced at $1599.
This is the 4 inch model with front cocking serrations and barrel bushing.
I called S&W because I could not find this model in the Blue Book. They tracked it down for me
12 models were produced in 2001, and 4 of them were shipped to Lew Horton. The other 8 were shipped or sold through other direct S&W dealers.
It was referred to as the IDPA model by S&W and when calling Lew Horton that is how they have the 4 that they sold listed as PC 4006 IDPA with night sights, barrel bushing, action job, front strap checkering and front cocking serrations.
