Thinking about buying a Performance center 629 hunter. How good does the glass bead finish hold up. How do you clean it? Will it scratch easy?
Thanks for replies.

It holds up well, and is not any more prone to scratches in my experience.

I find it harder to clean, especially on the cylinder. It seems to hold residue somewhat more firmly. For this reason alone, I somewhat prefer the standard stainless finish, but I did just buy another PC revolver with this finish.

It does hold up well. I don't worry about every last stain when I clean them. If I get really ambitious I guess another bead blast will make them look new.

Given normal care I think it may hold up BETTER than the smooth stainless finish.
Scratches actually show less IMHO.
Having said all that, I don't subject my 629-2 MR to a lot of rough and tumble.
As for cleaning, I just use the same protocol as with any other revolver.
I just wipe off the face of the cylinder and leave the scorch marks.

NO. I do not recommend it. Less than 6-months and I have much in the way of wear marks on all corners and shixx_t on my CCL 642CT. Still functions well but is butt ugly from carry.

The problem with the bead blast finish is that they are very prone to showing shiney spots from rubbing against another surface. When they slide across such surfaces, the matte finish gets knocked down (abraded) resulting in a shiney spot.
