Performance Center Schofield Model 3

I just bought a new in the box Schofield model 3 with a very low serial number and wonder how many of these beautiful pistols were built.I'm new here(today) so I don't know if this is the proper place to ask this. Any info will be appreciated.

The SCSW doesn't say how many were made but it couldn't have been too many.

Product codes were 170146 2000-2003, 170209FC 2001 nickel, 170207FC for 2001 nickel WF version, and 170208FC for the 2001 blue WF version.

I was told once that about 2000 were made. I can't substantiate that number though. They are very nice guns, and popular with cowboy action shooting competitors.
