I have a model 27-9 I want to get a combat trigger installed on instead of the target type and have the action worked for a better pull. Also have a 29-2 Nickel I'd like the finish touched up on a bit and possibly a little narrower target trigger. Is the S&W Performance Center the way to go or a local competent Gunsmith?

I don't know how you have bright nickel "touched up". If the finish is damaged to the point that polishing cannot repair it, the cure is a total refinish.

The trigger and action work can be done either at the PC or by a competent pistol smith. The operative word there is "competent".
