It was brought up in another thread by forum member Sevens that he really appreciates when forum members “in the know” share prices. If I am considered to be “in the know”, I am truly humbled.
I didn’t want to hijack another thread, and so I created a new one.
As I stated in the other thread, it appears that Triple Lock revolvers were significantly undervalued prior to 2020 as compared to other large bore revolvers such as the Colt Single Action Army revolver and the Smith & Wesson Registered Magnum revolver.
For this one, which hammered at $1400, I am into for $1583. 12% buyer’s premium, no sales tax, a $15 FFL fee, and shipping cost were waived as this shipped during the time frame when shipments could take over a month, as this one did. The auction house graciously refunded shipping costs which was a surprise, as this item was the last to arrive to the new owner, by far, of items shipped from that auction.
This revolver looks much better in person, I don’t Flitz anything. Given the recent run up in Triple Lock valuations recently, at least since this sale in October 2020, never say never, but this might have been, in hindsight, my last purchase of a respectable Triple Lock revolver in “decent” condition.
