Phil Swift here

Does anyone remember "Krass Brothers" from the Metropolitan Philadelphia area? They were on when WPHL was a Superstation prior to cable making everything somewhat equal..... Talk about leaving a negative impression - it's still with me.

Can't possibly be as bad as the guy who used to do the auto dealership ads all day and night on local TV in the Albany/Schenectady NY area, his signature LOUD line was "its HUUUUUGE!"

That said, he was said to be a nice guy and supposedly treated customers and staff very well.

"Krass Brothers, Store of the Stars!". I remember those adds on Channel 17, usually during "Sanford and Son" reruns or "Morton Downey Jr". They were classic Philly ads. The add that ran every summer for "Brigantine Castle" was another classic. "Crazy Eddie" had some good add's too. Oh, and Carvel ice cream cakes. You could get Fudgy the Whale or Cookie O'Puss.

I also remember the add's for "Freedom Rock". "Hey, is that Freedom Rock man? Ya man. Then turn it up man!". Available on 2 LP's, 6 cassettes or 2 CD's. Call NOW!!!.

My DIL is a district manager in a large bank, one of her bigger customers was this guy. Said he was decent to work with.

Very credible rumors has it he is rather sick. His son does some of their commercials now, but he is not near as obnoxious as his father. Even his many dealerships cannot or will not say anything about him. One of his salesman is a neighbor of mine, and let it drop, that they cannot talk about Billy!

Phil Swift, Doug and limu emo from Liberty Mutual , Flo from Progressive, "Hi, I'm Joe Namath" and similar hawkers are part of the reasons why I record most shows and the fast forward through the stuff I don't want to watch.

Billy Fuccillo (sp) is the HUUUUUGE car dealer guy.
He sold off many of his upstate NY dealerships recently. Illness is the word.

Annoying commercials to say the least.
There was one of his dealerships in our town. When it first opened, Billy was in town for a few days for the Huge Opening.
Over nite one night the burglary alarm went off and the local Constabulary responded.
There was Billy sitting inside his new dealership.
The Cops had to check the building anyway.
All the while Billy trying to sell them anything from a car to a Billy BobbleHead Doll.

THANKS to Robert Adler

THANKS to THANKS to Robert Adler inventor of MUTE button.

I remember it from 60s for Zenith TVs.
Was ultrasonic audio - the current IR LEDs had not been invented yet.

GOOGLE: Robert Adler
Fun fact: the MUTE button was invented in 1956 by Robert Adler, an Austrian Zenith Radio Corporation engineer. It was 1 of 4 buttons on his Space Commander 400, the first marketed TV remote control.
