The 3 month trial for Sirius XM on my new Toyota has run out. So after 4 or 5 letters from them wanting me to extend it they have started calling me. The call came from a small college town 20 miles from where I live so I know for sure they don't have a call center there. That tells me they are less than honest so I want nothing to do with them. I told the dude with the Indian accent that I wasn't interested and finally got rid of him. Well the next morning get another call from same small town about the same thing. This one does speak English a bit better. I had blocked number on first call but this number is a bit different. I plan on complaining to Toyota but I am sure that they will say they have nothing to do with it. I need to answer calls from this town because I have family there and do some business there. Plus I graduated from college there and get calls from them that I want to take sometimes. How do I put put a stop to this. They just will not take no for for an answer.

you are aware that you can negotiate the annual fee down to about $25? It's pretty nice if you do any traveling. They always send you a notice 1-2 months ahead of time for renewal. Just wait till less than a week before renewal date, and call and tell them to drop it. They will do about anything to keep you from dropping it. It's pretty cheap entertainment on the road.

ive had sirius since 2014 and i pay about 7.00 a month as they really want me to keep my service with them. wait until about a month before you cancel and then haggle with them about price you will more than likely get a very nice payment

My Ram truck came with a free trial. I never listened to it once. I was bombarded with letters asking me to renew but they just went in the shredder. Eventually, they stopped sending them. I never got a call that I can remember.

I actually enjoy Sirius and have negotiated my own price for almost 10 years. I don't think they've ever called me, but I phone them and ask to cancel before they have a chance. I pay about 25% of their rate.

As to phone number spoofing, I can't believe it's not illegal at the federal level. It's incredibly irritating, deceptive and often used for fraudulent purposes. The phone companies should be able to prevent it and the people responsible should be locked up, sentenced to hard labor and be regularly beaten.

Tried the free trial for a few days on my 2012 KIA Sportage Turbo when I bought it. Then I just grabbed myself a USB flash drive and filled it full of music that I like. Play this on shuffle and if I do not want to hear a song on that particular day I just hit the next button. Over the years I have upped the capacity of the flash drives and now have about 60 GB/8000 songs on it.

They love to use a phone number from the same area code. I don't answer and see if they leave a message. My wife however feels compelled to answer. Calls mostly are about extended warranties.

I agree spoofing should be illegal but when I was researching it on line I found an App that I could download and spoof numbers myself

When I got the call after the trial with our new Toyota ran out, I told them my average drive is 5-10 minutes, and for that I seldom even turn the radio on. That took care of it.

Besides, my 128GB iPhone holds more that enough music and Apple CarPlay works just fine.

I don't answer calls that I don't recognize.
Sirius? Love it! When I got my new Tojo, I transferred my old account over.
They gave me credit for old account plus the free time, away we go!
Mostly listen to Willie's Roadhouse.
Traditional Country Fan, didn't you know?.

If you wait long enough, they will offer you a $5.00/week package. Of course, by the time they did that I had signed up for Pandora on my phone with a Bluetooth connection to my truck radio for $56.00/year.

Better music selection as you can create your own stations and no annoying DJs.

Sirius/XM is 1990s tech.

Willies Roadhouse has varying qualities of music. I just finished listening to the latest free trial period and wasn't impressed.

Since they have to pay royalties for each song and the amount varies by how popular the song is, they play a lot of songs that weren't all that big when they were released.

Dallas Wayne may be the most annoying person on the planet.

All you do it let your answering machine take the call. Spammers don't leave a message. As soon as someone starts to leave a message, pick up the phone and talk to them. I figure the caller ID is false so I just ignore the caller's number and let the answering machine do its thing.

Call centers maybe becoming a thing of the past as companies slowly figure out that folks can call from home and process info. Also companies are finding out that they can get labor cheaper from afar. We cannot hate them for trying to cut costs.... I have had satellite radio for more than 25 years... I won't leave home with out it.

Yes indeed. I go through this dance with them every time my subscription nears renewal. They'll negotiate with themselves if you are persistent. I think they keep notes on my account, because they generally offer me a deal right out of the gate. With a couple of stubborn reps I went so far as to cancel the account. I was bombarded by email and phone calls. When they got down to a cost I thought was reasonable, I renewed.

They will put in a lot of effort and still wind up lowering their price significantly. Strange business model, but it must work or they wouldn't put the time into it. There must be very few of us willing to play the game with them. Instead of refusing to negotiate, they hope by giving a discount and keeping us, we'll neglect to argue with them each and every time.
