Photobucket has gotten so slow that it is almost unusable!:mad::mad: Also, about half the time I try to get on it it doesn't work. I have been using it for probably 10 years. Since I don't pay anything to use it, that may be my problem. Just thought I would rant a little!

I quit using it because of the bombardment of ads, and the response time of a slow piece of granite. I now use Picture Trail. Its free and meets all my needs.

I gave up on photobucket months ago once I figured out how to post pic's from my computer.

Give the 'free' download of "Photo Gallery" a try. I left photobucket immediately after finding Photo Gallery. I do everything I want to touch up and correct digital photos and then send them on in any manner I wish with no pain in the effort. They have a pay for upgrade that I haven't tried out because the free download does everything that I need. ...

I don't find it slow. I'm having no trouble with it. I don't see ads.

Also, I don't like to use the attachment feature. It's easier for people to see embedded pictures.

One of my drum forums banned using it due to all the advertising.(that's an entirely different convo all on its own.) I got to the point it was unusable for me as well with all the ads.

I found Flickr which is doing what I need it to do and is lightning fast with uploads. I couldn't be happier for the use of a free site. Plus, it's easy to use and simple to organize my pictures.

I hear you. It was great until this year when they decided to make more money off of us.

It is down right now.

Accessing Photobucket with my old XP computer is a slow process but is pretty fast when I use my new W10 computer with better video & faster processor.

However, once I upload a photo to them I copy the "IMG" link for that photo to a ***.txt file on my computer that all my Photobucket pictures are listed in. Then I just copy & paste that IMG link into my forum thread & avoid going back to their website anymore than necessary.

...I think it was their business model all along...let you use it free...post pictures all over the net...save pictures...with the plan all along that at some point you pay to play...or the experience will become so bad...you give up...seems like a risky plan...as people start bad mouthing the site...it's a little tough to keep up the image of the best thing going...

I noticed yesterday evening that it was slow and my pics weren't showing either. But this morning it was working fine. So I don't lknow if it was server problems or something else going on.

And ParadiseRoad, you might have a point too about their business model. I used to use Imgaeshack for their free service, but they did away with their free service and then tried putting my pics behind a paywall type deal where if I wanted to pay them for service they would show, but couldn't even access the pics until I coughed up some dough. But since I hadn't posted any pics there that I really needed I just told them to stuff their service where the sun don't shine and to delete my account.

I see many of our forum posters use Photobucket as do I.
Problems may be encountered but can also be rectified. One problem many users are not familiar with, is that anyone can view the images you have uploaded to your albums unless you make them private! Several posters have left theirs' public, or to share and this is fine if that is what you desire, but I assume most don't; they just have no idea that their pictures are being viewed by anyone that wishes to do so!
