If anyone is still interested, Photobucket has lowered its annual fee for 3rd party noncommercial hosting from $399/year to $99/year. I doubt they will get many takers, especially as services like Imgur are free, and I think better.

I paid Photobucket 39 per year for declining service and they still broke all my links in various forums when they demanded 399. I moved to Media Fire and I won't go back to PB even if it's free.

I have always been a photobucket guy.

I've always paid the ad-free charge (I think it is $48/yr.). I've always deleted the media pre-link to the image link. It shows here:

A "vintage" clothes pin??

Kinda sucks the life out of a nice picture. JMO:)

I just had the $9.99 yearly charge from PB put on my card this month. I have always used the copy and paste way to post my pics and that works fine. I understand the frustration everyone who was using the other way has with them but it works for me.

I have never used the url front end, just the img link.

Lets try.

Ha ha, the joke is on me. It worked. But on the forum it is posted on, it doesn't. Strange.

Oops, I take that back, it didn't work. I used PB for years and actually had 2 free accounts and 2 paid accounts at one point. When I looked last night, the $99 plan didn't include image hosting on forums and in emails. But it's good that it works for you.

Can you imagine how many folks bailed
when the fee went to $399.00 ?
I wonder who made that call and if they still
have a job.

I would love to know those numbers! They were probably the most used hosting site on the Internet at the time. Now......not so much!!

They've pretty much busted the internet. Threads on countless enthusiast forums have been rendered photo-less.

PB was becoming nearly unusable anyway...

Those jerks burned any bridges they might have had with me when they tried extorting $400/year to keep my forum links working. The only way I would use their service nowadays is if they paid me $400/year to use their service.

Hey,
This is a good improvement over my previous signatures. They are all here to protect me (and others) from scam people that steal a picture and then offer it FS. [I can prove it my picture]
Just a heads-up for those of you that may not know- none of the photo hosting sites will get through the .mil server. Just little red Xs where the picture should be.

If you're trying to sell something that might be important to you (unless you were trying to exclude military from your potential customers).

The forum has an upload option.
