She has a good eye. She is capable to show what she sees,
a rare talent.

True...

Great photos but I am pretty sure that a lot of post photo editing took place.

That's probably true, but darkroom techniques on film are post photo editing. To me in a picture made for expression it is the end result that counts. If a picture were courtroom evidence I wouldn't say that applies.

Very beautiful photography, but although a "Russian farm woman" is accurate, it's not the whole story. She's a graduate of the Moscow Institute of Architecture; I can't pin down if she lives full-time on the farm or not with a cursory search, but I don't think so.

"I have seized the light..I have arrested its flight. The sun itself will draw my pictures." …..Louis Daguerre 1839.

Still holds true today - not that I'm a pro or anything, but most decent photographers study the light on the subject and not the subject itself - makes all the difference. If you know both things (subject & light) all the better.

I wish I had the gift to see through an artists eyes just for awhile. It must be a different world than my eyes see. Wished for it, but just don't have the gift.

Why did Steichen take....

This is why Edward Steichen took over 1000 B&W pictures of a cup and saucer.
