Picked these 2 up today

Got these 2 today, a Model 15-3 Nickel and a Model 60 no dash.

Paid $900 for the pair, think I did ok?

I agree, they are very odd.

I haven't had a chance to deal with them yet, but can't say that I've ever seen anything like them before.

I think you are correct. I've usually seen those grips on Colt Detective Specials. This is the first time I recall seeing them on a S&W revolver.

Thanks, I felt it was a fair price for the two of them.

He was asking a few hundred more, but I felt I made a fair offer, just wanted to make sure I didn't overpay, not that it matters now.

Plus I didn't have a Model 15, and felt I needed one for my collection. ;-)

I've heard of the Herrett's before, but will have to do a little more research on them, as I don't know much about them.

You got them at a good price. They make a great addition to any collection.
I have to say the grips on the 60 don't do anything for the gun. I would be replacing them with some more original looking at least.

I did a little checking with google, and found that they are Herrett's Shooting Ace grips and were made for the J frame S&W.

If they are custom Herrets they could have been made for left or right hand, small or large hands. See how they work for you

I regret selling my 2" 15 a while ago. I picked up a 4" to replace it, but that old 2" shot so well, better than my current 4". Shoot it at 25 yards and see how you do!
