Picked this old shooter up today

WOW !!! Didnt even need to mention the price. Great Buy/Find, Congrats !!!

That's a terrible deal! You totally got ripped-off. I'm willing to help you out though. Sell it to me and I'll take it off your hands as a favor. Of course I'm kidding. Congratulations! You got a wonderful deal on my favorite revolver of all time.

Gunny-
In all seriousness, a heartfelt thank you to you, and all who serve/have served our great land, even though it may be difficult to do under the current administration and their socialist ideology.

You have my sincere respect.

Were you wearing a mask?

Great gun, better price.

How did I miss this thread when it launched three days ago? How come I didn't notice it while all the other usual suspects were piling on?

Anyway, I guess it's OK for a gun with such a short barrel. Couldn't you have talked the seller down another $25 or so?

Kind of an envy thing going on here at the moment. But I guess I'll get over it.

I went to a local gunshop and was looking at all the usual suspects, when I happened to look up on the top shelf of the display case (right in front of my face where I wasn't actually looking:rolleyes:), and spotted this 15-3 lying there. I asked to see it, and checked it over. Timing good. Lock-up good. No push-off. Not a lot of wear showing other than a few cosmetic blemishes on the right and left side, and a couple of small spots on the topstrap where rust had started to form at some point. The magnas were/are in very good shape with nice grain and color, and they do number to the gun.
According to Mr. Jinks, this one shipped in May of '69. No box or anything, but that's ok since I have an opened, but new set of tools, and a period correct box stored away. I have been looking for a shooter grade 15 for a while, and this one will fill the niche nicely. Best of all was the price- $239. Around here, that's a darn good deal for a blued S&W in any kind of decent shape.:)

Very nice. I love it when people are discovering the sweetness of model 15s.

If pressed to the wall, I would say that the model 15/67 with four inch barrels are probably my most favourite K frame models. I own two model 15s, one with a two, the other one with a four inch barrel... and I am packing a model 67 as a CCW piece.

Me too!

Dude! Two-thirty-nine!?!

I'm fond of saying the day of the $300 blue and the $400 stainless S&W are over.

Well... I guess it's not for all of us.

That's one like I started out with and like the most. A 4 inch K frame in 38spl.

When we do get together, it'll take a big truck to haul the guns.
