I picked up a nice model 12-2 yesterday. Box and papers are included, and the gun looks like it wasn't even fired.

I am always encouraged when I keep seeing gems like this show up. How could the previous owner(s) have not taken it out and fired it? Gotta thank those folks for being too busy to go wear it out.

I even got it for a good price so I am not complaining. Good unused gun at a good price. Can't get much better then that.

I sometimes carry a 442, but I might carry the 12 instead.

That's a beaut! Mind if I ask what it went for? I was looking at one locally that was not in as good shape (what the heck, yours looks NEW), but ultimately took a pass.

The new LGS has a 2" SB model 12 (pinned barrel, dash 2 I think?) for sale at $600. Nice gun, but that seems a bit much esp considering no box or "etc". . I bought a 2" RB model 12-2 a few months ago at another LGS for $350 ($400 asking price), pretty nice except for some holster wear through the blueing on the alum frame. That pricing's more like it.
Not sure about the owner of this new shop-- he called the model 12 snubby a "detective special", then called a 6" model 29 a "hogleg". I hope he's more knowledgable about long guns than he seems to be about handguns.

Nice revolver.
Love the Airweight K frames.

My 4 screw mod 12:

Here's a 12-2 that's a "car gun" (yes, I have the original hammer...)

Congratulations. Nice example.

Mine is a square butt, with box and papers. Originally I hadn't planned to carry it, but dog gone it, it was so light and appealing, I thought, "just once in a while." Now it's the only gun I carry.

What the heck. If I don't, someone else will when I'm dead and gone.

I really like the 12, not much heavier than a J frame, never felt comfortable with that frame size, and you'd be surprised how well they shoot at ranges that a J frame just doesn't like.

Right around $400. I thought I got a pretty good deal on it.

There is a bit of difference between a model 12 and a Colt Detective Special. Hopefully he has some more knowledgeable employees to help him out.

If he calls revolvers "wheelguns" that would be the final nail in the coffin. HATE that terminology.
