Greetings all,

A buddy of mine is selling off all his firearms due to medical reasons. When I looked at what he had, a few things had my interest - a Marlin Golden 39A 22 rifle, a older Wilson Combat Special Ops CQB 1911 (made on the Caspian frame), and this S&W 629 no dash...

It looks like he took the factory grips off the day he bought it - they were in his shooting box for this gun. It had a set of Hogue grips on it, but I put the originals back on ASAP!

It's been fired but in great shape - looking forward to getting some rounds down range soon - once I finish moving into my new house.

Stay safe,
Bob

Nice,
If it was me I'd put it away as an investment and shoot one made after the endurance package introduction, better yet the new non lock 4" 44 mountain gun which is under warranty and the factory has the parts to repair it.
That P&R gun will go up in value and if it brakes it's on your dime and doubt the factory has the parts.

Which is it? Clearly the 629 is 4". However, the letter states it was shipped as an 8 3/8. Is the letter wrong or has it been chopped or changed? Nice gun either way!

That letter and serial number belongs to different gun/xfuzz.
He was using the letter reference chart to tell the OP he has an early 629

What is the latest serial number range for 4" ND 629s?
Mine is N873###.
In the letter above, it states that these ranges are "early 629s".
Wondering if anyone knows the last serial number of the P&R 629s.

That's an excellent looking revolver!!

Sorry to here about your buddy and medical condition. That sucks havening to sell firearms. I have a 4" 6" and 8 3/8" All no dash . Correct me if I am wrong but I think the long barrel was the fewest made. The 4" was the hardiest and last for me to find.
